Our story began on February 28th,2021, when I (Johnny Sanchez Sr.) broke my leg during our family ski vacation in Red River, New Mexico. What started as a fun vacation quickly turned into a life-changing moment. I was out of work for over a year, and during that time, my family and I had a lot of long talks about how we could make the best out of a tough situation. Since I couldn’t put any weight on my leg for nine months after the fracture healed, I spent most of my days at home, getting around in a wheelchair. It wasn’t easy, but those months gave me time to reflect, dream, and come up with new ideas. Out of that challenge, Broken Leg RV Park was born- a reminder that sometimes, life’s setbacks can lead to unexpected blessings. We started small to help bring in some extra income while I recovered, but as we got deeper into it, we realized it was more than just a business; it became something we could pour our hearts into as a family. The name Broken Leg RV is a funny one to some people, but to us it’s a symbol of strength, family, and faith. It’s a daily reminder that even when life knocks you down, you can find new ways to stand back up (even after breaking your leg). Now, what started as a tough chapter in our lives has turned into something that brings joy and adventure toothers. We’re proud to share our story and our land with people and families who want to enjoy the little things and make memories because we know just how precious those moments can be.
